PoE Switch

A PoE Switch is an Ethernet switch that sends power as well as data through an Ethernet cable that is connected. If a Power over Ethernet switch is used, it will eliminate the need for an external power supply for the telephone it is connected to. An advantage of using a PoE switch would be to make it easier for installation and reduce clutter around the office, afterall, one cable is more efficient than two. PoE switches are commonly used in conjunction with VoIP telephones, wireless access points and IP surveillance equipment.
